Who We Are
Splash n Swim School was founded by Marissa Willard in 2012. After lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons at one of the community pools in the area, by request, Marissa started teaching swim lessons in her parents' backyard. As she developed her skill and knowledge, the small business grew organically over the next several years. After marrying her husband, Landon, in 2018, they decided to make it a full-time endeavor. They were eventually able to find other locations to teach their high-quality lessons. As they started to expand, they invested more into their program, developing their curriculum, and collaborating with other swim schools all around the world including schools in Utah, Arizona, Florida, even Puerto Rico and Australia. Landon and Marissa, along with our excellent management staff, continue to oversee the day-to-day operations, hoping to continue to grow and develop Splash n Swim School to be an integral part of the community.
At Splash n Swim School we’re all about helping children and adults be safe and confident in the water. We pride ourselves on having effective, high-quality lessons. Through our advanced lesson structure, we provide focused, individualized lessons that help our students achieve maximum progress. Our curriculum has been improved and developed over the last 13 years. We are constantly learning and implementing new techniques and practices to our curriculum to make it better. We learn new things every year as we collaborate with other swim schools from all over the country. We work to ensure that every lesson we teach is high-quality and productive.
We strive to instill confidence in our students by helping them see their progress, always encouraging them to develop new skills. Each instructor goes through a rigorous training process that includes required observation, aiding, and “training teaching” hours before permitted to teach their own lessons. We have continued monthly trainings for all of our instructors, regardless of experience. Our instructors are trained to be patient, kind, and always willing to adapt teachings to the student’s needs. Our instructors are respectful, passionate, and really good at making learning fun.
